What It Is & How It’s Made

Unlike metallic Venetian plasters (which are lime plasters infused with metallic pigments), liquid metal is a specialized cold-metal coating composed of up to 95% pure, raw metal powder—such as brass, bronze, copper, zinc, or iron—suspended in a high-performance binder. It is applied by trowel or spray over a primed substrate. When first applied and cured, it appears dull. The true artistry happens in the finishing process: through rigorous, multi-stage sanding, polishing, and burnishing, the raw metal is exposed, revealing a solid, brilliant metallic surface.

Authentic Metal Properties: Because the cured surface is almost entirely real metal, it behaves exactly like it. It is genuinely cold to the touch, possesses the true luster of solid metal, and iron finishes are even magnetic.
